What do you get when you cross two Tassie winemakers with a wine- writer and a little spare time during harvest? Brian Wines. Raising a glass to the Brians of the Australian wine industry, in that by doing almost the exact opposite to what most winemakers named Brian would do, they have ended up making some pretty tasty wine.
To keep things subtle, Brian Bitter is a collaboration with Tasmanian Brewing legend Ashley Huntington of 2 Metre Tall. Huntington co- ferments his Derwent Aromatic Raw Spelt Ale with Brian Rizza straight from barrel. It’s roughly 50:50 beer and wine, and tastes like nothing else. Beautifully sour, fresh and punchy.
